Canadian Coalition for Farmed Animals - An organization dedicated to promoting the welfare of animals raised for food in Canada through public education, legislative change and consumer choice.
WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals) - WSPA is an animal welfare charity organization that works internationally and locally to end cruelty to animals through field work, campaigning, and education.

Alberta Animal Rescue Crew (AARC) Society - AARC is a non-profit organization whose mandate is to rescue abandoned, surrendered or abused small animals from First Nations Communities in Central Alberta and place these animals in the safety of a foster home system while awaiting suitable placement in forever, adoptive homes.
Animal Advocates Society of BC - A group dedicated to the four-Rs of animal advocacy: Research, Rescue, Rehabilitate, Rehome. Their goal is to save dogs and cats from abandonment and suffering.
Animal Alliance of Canada - Animal Alliance of Canada is committed to the protection of all animals and the promotion of a harmonious relationship among people, animals and the environment.
The Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) - A Calgary based group dedicated to finding permenant homes for rescued animals.
Animal Rights U of A - A student animal rights group on the University of Alberta campus. This group does not have a website, but follow the link for contact information.
Beagle Paws Rescue - This is a Newfoundland based organization devoted to rescuing Beagles. They have ties to many areas across the country, including Edmonton.
Bear Valley Rescue - A horse rescue in Bear Valley Alberta, dedicated to saving horses slated to be slaughtered, or who have been abandoned or abused.
Big Heart Rescue - Big Heart Rescue works within the Province of British Columbia with a special focus on small First Nations Reserves, such as Bella Bella and Shear Water on the Central Coast and Kuper Island in the Gulf Islands. We refer to our work in these communities as "Spirits Mission". The Big Heart Rescue Society was formally organized as a non-profit charity August 2002 and since this time many, many companion animals have been vaccinated, sterilized, vetted, fostered and adopted.

Healing With Horses - Home of Spirit Of The Red Horse Sanctuary. Not only a home for abandoned and abused horses, donkeys, etc., but also a healing place for humans.
Humane Animal Rescue Team - The Humane Animal Rescue Team (HART) is a non-profit organization
committed to rescuing stray, abandoned and unwanted dogs and cats from rural areas including First Nations surrounding Edmonton, Alberta and place them in permanent homes. HART also provides programs that promote responsible pet ownership, and prevent cruelty to animals.
HSI/Canada (The Humane Society International/Canada) - HSI/Canada works to protect all animals through education, investigation, litigation, legislation, advocacy, and field work. We are an effective voice for animals, with active programs in companion animals, wildlife and habitat protection, marine mammal preservation and farm animal welfare.
IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) - The International Fund for Animal Welfare works to improve animal welfare, prevent animal cruelty and abuse, protect wildlife and provide animal rescue around the world.

McDonald Family Animal Rescue - The McDonald family has been rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing small domestic and exotic animals for more then ten years. Most of the animals they take in are small exotic and domestic animals such as reptiles, amphibians, rabbits, rodents, and birds. The McDonald Family Animal Rescue has recently acquired charitable status, so please be sure to donate generously.
