When Obama was in the running, I had heard promising rumours that the US Presidential candidate was vegetarian. I was even hopeful as Barack took his oath, and I looked at the throngs of admirers wearing fur coats (seriously, did you ever see so many?) Unfortunately, it seems they were indeed only rumours. Barack likes his barbeque, despite being fully aware of the strong correlation between meat consumption and global warming, and knowing that the industries are exploitative and hell on earth for the animals involved.
Is this a result of being frightened that the American people would not accept a compassionate President? Or is he really just as narrow sighted and selfish as his predecessors?
"I think how we treat our animals reflects how we treat each other. It's very important that we have a president who is mindful of the cruelty that is perpetrated on animals."
~~ Barack Obama
Seriously Obama? You said that? I guess do what you say, not as you do huh.
